Controlling the Dying Will
Gokudera is failing at utilizing a technique shown to him when he was younger by Doctor Shamal; throwing dynamites at paper airplanes accurately. Tsuna then notices an explosion, and heads over to Gokudera's area. As Tsuna nears, he sees Gokudera making a mistake again, sending him flying back. Tsuna rushes forward, but is stopped by Doctor Shamal, who states that people like him that can't improve should be left alone, and he knows because he suggested to Gokudera to use dynamite, and until he understands "it", he won't improve. Gokudera then falls down, his dynamite scattering around him and detonating. However, when the dust clears, Tsuna's father, Iemitsu Sawada, disguised as a worker, dug a hole for Gokudera to fall in, protecting him from the blast, with Reborn beside him. Iemitsu then gives a hint to "it", stating that he should protect himself; otherwise, how could he protect others? Iemitsu then leaves. Gokudera then finally realizes that he had to value his own life. Tsuna runs in, while Gokudera expresses his embarrassment at Tsuna seeing him at such a pathetic moment. Reborn then states that all the teams have been assembled. At Yamamoto's house, he falls onto the ground, beaten by his dad. Yamamoto's dad tells him if he wanted to play kendo for fun, he wasn't going to succeed. Yamamoto attempts to attack again, stating that it wasn't for fun, but was struck from behind by his dad. Yamamoto's dad then stated that he would teach him the Shigure Soen Ryu. At Tsuna's training, Tsuna complains, asking Reborn if he could rest, when Basil shows up, fully healed. Reborn then states that if he beats Basil, he would pass. Though Tsuna expresses his surprise and reluctance, Reborn states that he would be surprised at his own growth.
