Tsuyoshi Yamamoto is the father of Takeshi Yamamoto in the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! series. The owner of a sushi bar named TakeSushi, he lives there with his son. After coming into contact with Tsunayoshi Sawada he would take a liking to him upon learning that he was friends with Yamamoto. As one of the wielders of the Shigure Soen Ryu sword style, Tsuyoshi is prepared to pass on that technique to Yamamoto when the time is right.
Appearance[]
Tsuyoshi has a somewhat similar build to his son where he has the same black-colored hair.
Likely on account of him working as a sushi chef (an itamae), Tsuyoshi is usually clad in a neat white shirt where he wears a white band wrapped around his head.
Personality[]
An effective business man, Tsuyoshi is able to keep the resturant he owns maintained and running. Should a dine and dash scenario occur, Tsuyoshi is ready for it. Despite that, Tsuyoshi can immediately forgive a debt if he likes the individual in question, such as Tsuna Upon finding out Takeshi Yamamoto was friends with him.
Tsuyoshi is very proud of the Shigure Soen Ryu style and even gets angry if anyone suggests that it isn't capable enough, or weak. A serious nature is evident when carrying out sparring exercises. He is generally very perceptive, often able to tell his son's feelings just by looking. A part of his kind nature, Tsuyoshi is willing to listen to others' concerns.
Abilities and equipment[]
Accomplished at preparing fish, Tsuyoshi keeps his expertise with a knife hidden from Takeshi Yamamoto where the toned down method of preparation is still impressive in its own right. A sparring sword can be used where the impact can knock an opponent off their feet. Tsuyoshi is agile enough to move around a foe and strike from behind as well.
Etymology[]
- The name Tsuyoshi means "sturdy, strength, robust, tough, hard, rigid, strong" (剛).
- Tsuyoshi's surname Yamamoto means "mountain, hill" (山) (yama) and "base, root, origin, source" (本) (moto).
Trivia[]
- In the Card Games, Tsuyoshi is attributed to have Rain Flames.
- Takeshi Yamamoto and Superbia Squalo had 7 common forms and only one different, which means Tsuyoshi and the person who lost to Squalo had the same master. He taught them all 7 forms and then both of them eventually created two different 8th forms.
- In Mr. Rebokku no Ciao Ciao Interview, Yamamoto stated that his father Tsuyoshi was the one person that he thought he could not beat in an indication of how highly regarded he is by him.
