An important part of the Future Arc, the rings allow guardians to use their Dying Will Flame and put them into Boxes that have advance weapons in them based on modern/advance technology, plants or mostly seen animals. There are different Ranks to the Rings that change the purity of the flame and hence effect the strength of the box weapon. They range from E (weakest) to A (strongest) maybe a S rank for the Vongola and Mare Rings. It also appears that the higher the rank of the ring, the more dying will flames it can handle before it shatters. A good example of this is Kyoya Hibari, when using rank C and D cloud rings, the rings would shatter after only one use, but when a young Hibari used his Vongola Ring it could easily withstand his extreme dying will flame without breaking.

In the future arc the Tri-ni-set is made up of the Arcobaleno Pacifiers, Vongola Rings and the Mare Rings

[edit] Arcobaleno Pacifiers

These sets of pacifier are like rings. They are worn by the Arcobaleno. They are the first rings to be seen in the series. These rings, along with the Vongola Rings and the Mare Rings make up the Tri-ni-set (7³), three sets of extremely powerful rings that are said to have created the world. They are currently worn by:

• Sky Pacifier - Uni/Aria/Luce
• Storm Pacifier - Fon
• Rain Pacifier - Colonnello
• Cloud Pacifier - Skull
• Lightning Pacifier - Verde
• Mist Pacifier - Viper
• Sun Pacifier - Reborn

These rings are worn by the current Vongola Guardians after a new successor to the Vongola Famiglia is chosen. These rings, along with the Arcobaleno Pacifiers and the Mare Rings make up the Tri-ni-set (7³), three sets of extremely powerful rings that are said to have created the world. They are currently worn by:

• Sky Ring - Tsunayoshi Sawada
• Storm Ring - Hayato Gokudera
• Rain Ring - Takeshi Yamamoto
• Cloud Ring - Kyoya Hibari
• Lightning Ring - Lambo
• Mist Ring - Chrome Dokuro
• Sun Ring - Ryohei Sasagawa

These rings are held by the Six Funeral Wreaths and Byakuran of the Millefiore Famiglia. These rings, along with the Arcobaleno Pacifiers and the Vongola Rings make up the Tri-ni-set (7³), three sets of extremely powerful rings that are said to have created the world. They are currently worn by:

• Sky Ring - Byakuran
• Storm Ring - Zakuro
• Rain Ring - Bluebell
• Cloud Ring - Kikyo
• Lightning Ring - Ghost
• Mist Ring - Torikabuto
• Sun Ring - Daisy

[edit] Hell Rings

These rings are 6 of the most powerful Mist rings. When they are used to excess they can possess the user and unleash a great amount of power. But if the user himself cannot contain/control its power then the hell ring can cause a drastic change in personality (it seems that Mukuro, Fran and Kawahira do not have altered personality even after extensive use unlike Genkishi ). Currently, the users of 5 of the 6 rings have been shown. The official name is only known to one of the Hell Rings: the Ossa Impressione (Italian for bones impression) Hell Ring, which is shaped like a misty skull.

• Eye shaped ring - Mukuro Rokudo
• Snake shaped ring - Kawahira
• Vine covered orb shaped ring - Mukuro Rokudo^[1]

In the future, the Varia appear to have customized rings that are engraved with the Varia crest. Unknown Rank, possibly every type.

These rings were worn by what were thought to be the Six Funeral Wreaths before Byakuran revealed that the rings that they were using were fakes and destroyed the rings. They were described by Byakuran to be "beautiful stones of A rank", but he said that the real Mare Rings were "a lot more special." They were first worn by the Giglio Nero Family

Note: It appears that Genkishi and Gamma has had their fake Mare rings repaired, but without the wings.

• Lanchia's Boss's Ring - Given to Tsuna by Lanchia after the Varia conflict. Unknown Rank (possibly A rank or above), Unknown Type (possibly Sky). Tsuna brought this ring along with him to the future, but is yet to use it. Possibly part of a set that is just as powerful as the Mare and Vongola rings hinting this beacuse of Lal's face on episode 75.
• Gokudera's Skull Ring - These rings are from Sistema C.A.I. There is no rank for them though.

[edit] Trivia

• It is speculated by many Hitman Reborn fans that there is a rank above an A-Rank ring, for the unknown rings like the Varia and Lanchia's Boss Ring, and the Hell Rings (Byakuran stated to Rokudo Mukuro that he had 2 hell rings: " Wow! You have 2 rare rank 5 rings, the hell rings. This hints that a hell ring is very powerful.) It might be possible that it is AA-Rank.
• The Varia Rings and Lanchia's Boss Ring cannot be S-Rank rings as it was stated that the only S-Rank's were the Mare, Vongola and Pacifiers.
• It is quite surprising how the Varia and Fake Mare Cloud Guardian never had been shown.
