Lancia is a member of the Kokuyo Junior High Gang while under Mukuro's control and a former member of an unknown Mafia Famiglia. Known as the strongest man in Northern Italy, he is powerful fighter and wields a gigantic spiked iron sphere.
Character Outline Edit
Lancia has spiked out, slick black hair and dark circles under his eyes. There are two dark lines which may be a tattoo on the right side of his face. He has rarely been seen without his gloves on.
While Lancia was a part of the Mafia, he was happy for the life they gave him. This all changed when Mukuro arrived and, through possession, forced him to murder his family for his own revenge against the Mafia. While under Mukuro's control, he became the fake Mukuro Rokudo who murdered countless people, until he met Tsuna, who helped to break the control Mukuro had on him. Now free from Mukuro's control, Lancia is making amends for all the sins he committed while under Mukuro's control.
Lancia was an orphan that was adopted into a Mafia Family. Because of this, the Boss and Family that brought him up were his life. So, in order to repay their kindness, he served the Family as a bodyguard until he became known as the Strongest Man in Northern Italy. Five years before the events of the Kokuyo Arc, the Boss picked up another orphan and he became his responsibility. He loved him like he was truly part of his Famiglia like the way his Famiglia treated him. After coming home from playing cards one day, he found that everyone in his Famiglia had been killed. In reality, Mukuro had used the Possession Bullet to take over Lancia's body and use him to commit that murder. Because of this, he kept having nightmares of the incident and eventually tried to commit suicide; however, he couldn't, because he was under Mukuro's control. Eventually, he lost his name and will and became the fake Mukuro Rokudo. Lancia did everything and anything for him and became a killing machine.
Plot Overview Edit
Lancia is first seen in a photograph after Ken is defeated that falsely identifies him as Mukuro. He is in the room when Chikusa regains consciousness and is described as one the reinforcements that was called in to help deal with the Vongola. He leaves and confronts Yamamoto, Gokudera, Bianchi, and Reborn. Because of the photo they all believe him to be Mukuro.
Yamamoto is the first one that tries to fight him. After attacking Yamamoto with his Steel Serpent Ball Yamamoto finds out the weapon's ability to redirect air currents by throwing dirt into the path of the ball. He defeats Yamamoto and then Gokudera collapses because of the Trident Mosquitoes side effects, and Bianchi prepares to fight him. But before he can Tsuna arrives asking what's happening and blocks his attack on Bianchi.
Tsuna evades his first attack and punches him in the jaw. He then blocks and throws his next attack back at him. But that is still not enough to beat Lancia. He tosses his Steel Serpent Ball into the air and engages Tsuna in hand-to-hand fighting to put him into position so the ball in the air would land on him. This doesn't defeat Tsuna because he declares that Lancia isn't an evil person and because of that his weak will won't beat his dying will. In the final attack he defeats Lancia because the guilt in his heart prevented him from giving the finishing blow. He then admits that he isn't the real Mukuro, and that Mukuro took everything from him.
He tells Tsuna about his Famiglia and how they were all killed by his own hands because he was being controlled by Mukuro. He then tries to tell Tsuna about Mukuro's true objective, but he was attacked and poisoned by Chikusa to keep him quiet. Before he passes out Tsuna asks for his real name and when Tsuna repeats his name it brings him peace as he becomes unconscious.
While Tsuna is fighting Mukuro and is hit by rebuke bullet he hears Lancia telling him not to make the same mistake he did by protecting his friends and family with his own hands. At the end of the arc, he was treated for the poison and then taken away by the Vindice.Xanxus as having Vongola blood, they all appear defeated. Lancia then finishes off the rest off them revealing that he defeated them. Because he isn't being controlled he is stronger because now he is without doubts. Although he has no more ties to Mukuro's gang, Mukuro asked for Lancia's help in fighting for Tsuna. After the battle, he stays at Tsuna's place for a while. While trying to leave without bothering anyone Lancia and Basil are confronted by Tsuna who question why they left. He speaks about how he thinks that he can sense Mukuro better than other people because of all the years he spent being possessed by him. He plans to return to Italy with Basil to begin visiting the Families of the people he killed to make amends. Before leaving, he gives Tsuna his former boss's ring. The Ring has a stone in it that looks as if it could emit Sky Flames, as its core is orange.
During the Future Final Battle Arc, Lancia's boss's ring protects Tsuna from Byakuran's needle attack aimed for the former's heart.
Appearances in other media Edit
He appeared along with Basil in the third volume of Hidden Bullet: Millefiore Panic. It features Lancia on his way returning to Italy with Basil to make amends for the people of the Famiglias he had killed under Mukuro's control, but then must deal with malfunction of the plane they are riding and must control the plane to prevent it from crash landing.
Abilities and Weapons Edit
Lancia is an extremely powerful fighter, skilled in both hand to hand combat and using a large Steel Serpent Ball, which he can lift with little effort. According to Marmon, Lancia is the strongest man in Northern Italy. When he first appeared, he easily defeated Yamamoto with two strikes from his Steel Serpent Ball. Bianchi was also nearly defeated had Tsuna not stopped the attack with his Dying Will.
Despite how Tsuna in Dying Will Mode put up a strong fight against him, reflecting the Steel Serpent Ball back at Lancia, Lancia showed no signs of damage, and then overpowered Tsuna in hand to hand combat, nearly killing him. However, because of how Lancia was not an evil person, and his heart was overcome with guilt, Lancia hesitated and always closed his eyes whenever he attacked his foes, which Tsuna noted, and thus Lancia couldn't defeat Tsuna's Dying Will.
Even after being beaten, he took a dangerous blow from Chikusa's poison needles and still managed to survive, though was nearly killed.
In the Varia arc, when he returned, he singlehandedly defeated all 50 of Varia's elite squad, who were stated to be second only to the main Varia members. Ken was shocked to see how much stronger Lancia was. Reborn stated that now that Lancia fought of his own free will and not under the control of Mukuro, Lancia could fight without hesitation, and thus became a terrifying force.
- Steel Serpent Ball: He possesses a large metal ball that is attached to a chain with a ring at the end for holding, making it a mace-like weapon. Due to the ball's snake-like engravings on the surface, it can track and redirect air currents that create a vortex, sucking in whatever is near, giving the enemy the inability to dodge.
- Thousand Snake Fierce Domination (Senja Reppa) - Centers the ball in front of him facing his enemy and hits it with one palm towards enemy.
- Violent Snake Fierce Domination (Bouja Reppa) - A more powerful form of Thousand Snake Fierce Domination. Lancia throws the ball into the air to give it extra spin and hits it with both palms, adding more power.
- Flying Snake Fierce Domination (Hija Reppa) - The aerial version of Violent Snake Fierce Domination and the carvings from the air into a snake form.
- According to the fanbook Vongola 77, he's the second creepiest Mafia member in the world.
- In first Hidden Bullet Novel, chapter 4: Mukuro's Illusion, it was revealed that when he took care of Mukuro before he was controlled by him, Mukuro referred to him as his "senpai".
- Lancia means lance in Italian.
- Despite how Lancia was apparently said to have been taken away by the Vindice, him appearing in the Varia arc indicates that he was released. This could be because Lancia was possessed by Mukuro when he committed those crimes, and thus was pardoned for it.
- Episode 65, After Lancia and Basil leave for Italy, Reborn uses Lancia's attack on Lambo by turning Leon into the Steel Serpent Ball.
