Haru Miura is a Midori Middle School student who likes Tsunayoshi Sawada. Quite quickly, Haru becomes besotted with her newfound dream of becoming his Mafia wife. Plucky in her nature, Haru is ready to be involved with what Reborn usually arranges. A talented gymnast, that Haru is also daring is of help in such instances.

Appearing in the manga along with the anime, Haru becomes close friends with Kyoko who she shares a love of cakes with. When together, the two of them become an excellent support for the wider group no matter the situation. They are often in mind as ones who need defending, yet in turn they also help look after others.

She is known for having a lot of costumes and disguises which she showcases in the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! series. There is never an unsuitable time for such costume appearances where Haru is concerned. Her sociableness makes Haru the ideal choice for leading the Haru's Haru Haru Interview, and the anime adaption of that which is titled Haru's Haru Haru Interview: Dangerous which was featured after the endings of many episodes.

Appearance[]

She is young teenage girl with a slender and relatively short build. Haru has black hair (changed to dark brown in the anime), which is generally always worn in a ponytail. This is tied up with green hair bobbles, where other hair accessories are available on occasion such as a red ribbon when at the beach.

When Haru wears her hair loose as when she is sleeping, the length reaches dow to her back. Her bangs are long on one side, namely her right side. The centre parting to her bangs keeps her hair out of her face and has her dark gray (brown in the anime) colored eyes visible.

While consistently changing outfits in the series, her most prominent outfit is her Midori Junior High uniform. This involves a white formal shirt, a cream sweater vest with a blue bowtie. A dark red bow is also an option Haru makes use of. Additionally, Haru wears a short pleated gray skirt reaching down to her thighs, with black knee-high socks and brown shoes.

Casual clothing includes a range of dresses. One example is a knee reaching orange dress along with a cream colored long-sleeved top. Such long-sleeved tops as with a green one are worn open to keep the upper half of her dress visible. A multitude of colors from pink, yellow, red among other vibrant ones are worn where Haru seems to be happy with any such color to her attire. As with a light blue frilly top over dark hot pants, Haru opts for variations in her clothing.

Her future counterpart has shorter hair where it is styled neatly with the length reaching to the end of her face. For clothing, future Haru is seen wearing a dark blue short-sleeved blouse. The white shirt underneath has a raised collar, and future Haru also wears black pants. A gray bracelet is worn on her left arm. While in the future, Haru is described as being more feminine compared to in her youth.

Haru's three most attractive features are said to be her beautiful eyes in third place. The second most attractive feature is her cute dimples and for first is her whorl of hair, as told by Futa thanks to his Ranking Ability.[5]

Personality[]

An upbeat and enthusiastic girl, Haru's spirited nature is evident in her manner of engaging with others. It is natural for Haru to take measures to get what she wants. Lying in wait for Tsuna and Reborn, she had reasoned if she were to confess her love she would have to be on the same level, and so approached Reborn by balancing on the wall he was walking on. Pleased that Reborn knew about her, Haru enquired if he would be her friend. After her elation at a yes answer, Haru fell from the wall in delight, to land perfectly on her feet before cheering with joy.

Haru is a member of the gymnastic club in her school and is accomplished enough to participate in inter-school competitions.[6] Adventurous, Haru is willing to partake in activities beyond what may be considered rationale. Donning a disguise of sorts, Haru elected to wait outside Tsuna's house at night as she searched for a chance to (in her mind) rescue Reborn from him. She felt nothing off beat in abseiling down a rock wall at night to see Tsuna.

While she is shown to be kind and caring, Haru is also able to be assertive. Whenever Haru believes that Tsuna or Gokudera are doing something wrong she usually does not hesitate to berate them for their actions. On certain occasions she is prepared to deliver physical harm. At hearing Reborn state he was a hitman, Haru scolded Tsuna for that since she thought he was teaching a baby assassination related matters. Angered at what she assumed Tsuna was doing, Haru voiced that babies were angels with pure hearts.

An umbrage at matters seen to be unjust results in Haru shouting her frustrations. Single-minded in matters she cares about, Haru dismisses the idea that something is a misunderstanding. Haru is firm in her beliefs, even if certain ones are untrue. She takes to physically attacking Tsuna when she formed the impression that he was a delinquent who was being a bad influence on Reborn.

A natural at taking matters into her own hands, Haru decided to confront Tsuna while adorned in heavy samurai like armor. The preparations were complete with a motorcycling helmet. Her weapon of choice for the task at hand was a hockey stick. Haru challenged Tsuna to see if he was fit to be a Mafia Boss. Not just turning up for show, Haru proceeded to assail Tsuna with the hockey stick and put up a passionate battle.

Pragmatic about matters, while Haru chided Tsuna for partaking in mafia activities, she could also be impressed by it. Haru is well aware of Tsuna's status in the Mafia and far from being daunted, instead Haru is upfront that one day her dream is to become the wife of a mafioso. She is unafraid of the reputation that mafia-like organizations have. Instead, Haru sweeps herself up in her own glamorised version of the mafia world, which she thoroughly enjoys.

Appearing besotted after being rescued by Tsuna, she was fond of what she said were cheesy lines from him that Haru thought could only be seen on TV. In her infatuation, she addressed Tsuna by his mafia boss title. Freely sharing that her heart was pounding, Haru declared she had fallen in love. Although Haru initially desired an hug from Reborn, she then felt like one from Tsuna and ran at him to acquire it.

Haru loves children and can become very protective towards them, especially towards Lambo and I-Pin. She dislikes the idea of children being involved in the mafia, hence her fierce defence of Reborn. Even when in water and asking for others to save her, at seeing Reborn she was more concerned for him as she warned that the river was not something he could not swim in. In her bravery, Haru places others above herself. Like Kyoko she excels at cooking and housework and is a great support for others.

Having a fascination with costumes, this often leads to her changing into different types which more often than not could be safely described as bewildering ones. Haru likes the cosplay/costume Namahage and is seen wearing it many times. In her elementary school essay, she stated that her dream was to become Japan's best costume maker. Haru is also shown to be able to make dolls with her talented sewing skills.

Possessing a fondness for eating cakes, Haru's favorites are cheesecake (3rd), chocolate cake (2nd) and Mont Blanc cake (1st) according to Futa's rankings.[7] "Haru Appreciation Day" is every third Sunday of the month, where Haru decides for herself that she can eat as much cake as she wants. Such a day was when Haru befriended another with a passion for cakes, namely Kyoko.[8] For what else Haru enjoys, her favorite Chinese foods are fried rice, dumplings, and xiao long bao (a type of steamed bun).[7]

According to Tsuna and Gokudera, Future Haru has become more feminine, but her way of thinking is still the same. Haru's catchphrase is "Hahi!" and she has a habit of saying "desu" at the end of her sentences. She also likes to refer to herself in 3rd person.
