History[]
Lal Mirch and Colonnello are revealed to have a past together where she was the one who trained Colonnello before he became an Arcobaleno. Originally, Lal Mirch was to receive the Blue Pacifier on The Fated Day until Colonnello intervened and left Lal Mirch with a corrupted Pacifier.[1]
Daily Life Arc[]
When Tsuna fails the test at Mafia Land, he is sent to Colonnello to train for his last-chance test. Colonnello proves he is a vicious tutor and great rival to Reborn by physically attacking Tsuna in a competition to prove who was most strict. After putting Tsuna through the wringer, he falls asleep standing next to Reborn. Later when the two awoke he used his rifle to destroy the Carcassa Famiglia's warships.
Varia Arc[]
He becomes Ryohei's home tutor during the Vongola Ring Conflicts and stays at Ryohei's home. Colonnello was the one to teach Ryohei the Maximum Cannon by shooting him with a bullet specially designed to hold all of Colonnello's knowledge. Later he makes a surprise entrance at Ryohei's match to give him permission to use his full power. He also makes the decision to come to the Mist ring match to confirm his suspicion that Mammon was actually Viper one of the Arcobaleno. He was also an observer during the Sky Match.
Future Arc[]
Allegedly, during a battle against the Millefiore Famiglia, Colonello and Mammon, already weakened by the Anti Tri-ni-sette Radiation, died. Colonnello had sacrificed him life to buy Mammon time to escape. Unfortunately, Mammon remained trapped, and rather than be captured or killed, committed suicide.[1]
His Arcobaleno Pacifier was sent to Lal after his death. After Tsuna manages to open the Box it was stored in, Lal keeps it until Uni later needed it to revive the dead Arcobaleno.
Arcobaleno Trials Arc[]
Colonnello was the first Arcobaleno to administer the first Trial for the Arcobaleno Seals. He fights Tsuna and Gokudera in the Trial of Combat Ability. Gokudera shoots him with various Flame Arrows, but Colonnello was able to avoid them. Colonnello then appeared better than the two, but Colonnello loses to Tsuna's Attack. In the end, Colonnello's Rifle was badly damaged. Meaning, Tsuna won and obtains the Rain Seal and has won the Trial of Combat. He gets captured by Verde, along with all the other Arcobaleno besides Aria, Verde using a variation of non-Tri-ni-sette radiation which only paralyzes the Arcobaleno as opposed to outright killing them.
Primo Family Arc[]
Colonnello and the rest of the Arcobaleno were called by Reborn to train Tsuna and the other guardians. He was paired with Yamamoto, as they both have Rain-attribute Dying Will Flames. He watched over Yamamoto's training, and noticed that Yamamoto was acting strange. He confronted Yamamoto before his test with Ugetsu about his behavior and asked if there was something on his mind. Yamamoto responded that due to his easygoing nature, he let everyone down, and he wouldn't make the same mistake again.
During the meeting with Ugetsu, Yamamoto, assuming that the test was a battle, began to fight Asari. Yamamoto was pushed into a corner but notices an opening and tries to take advantage of it. He was nearly successful, but Colonnello intervened and stopped him. Ugetsu then informed Yamamoto that he had failed the test.
Concerned for Yamamoto, Colonnello visits him again at his dojo. He asks Yamamoto does he know why he stopped him during his battle against Ugetsu. When Yamamoto is confused, Colonnello encourages him to seek the answer himself. After Yamamoto passed his second trial and bestowed with Ugetsu's power, Colonnello accepts Yamamoto's apology.
During Lightning Guardian succession trial, Colonnello accompanies Tsuna and his friends together with Reborn, Fon, and Uni to the amusement park where Lampow is holding the trial. Colonnello comments how weak the trial is since all Lambo needed is playing certain attractions and collecting three stamps to pass. When the attractions begins to malfunction, Colonnello wonders if it's part of the trial, but Reborn and Fon correctly deduces that the malfunction is caused by Verde. As Verde's interference causes mass panic, Colonnello helps in destroying Verde's attacking robots with Yamamoto, Gokudera, Fon, and I-Pin until Lambo passed his trial.
During Storm Guardian's succession trial, Colonnello questions Fon's absence at school even though he is supposed to accompany Gokudera as his tutor. Skull accuses Fon slacking off, an accusation that Reborn turns down by pointing out that Skill himself slacks off by not accompanying Hibari. Skull tries to make excuses, but Colonnello and Reborn kicks him for lying.
During Cloud Guardian and Sun Guardian succession trial, Colonnello tries to convince Hibari to take Alaudi's trial when the latter refused because it doesn't involves fighting, but he is blocked by Hibird who let Hibari passes. He and the others then discuss a way to convince Hibari, prompting Ryohei to storm off and follows Hibari all day to convince him. Colonnello then observes Hibari and Ryohei fights against Skull who is driven to use force to convince Hibari to take the trial. Fortunately, Skull's gave Hibari and Ryohei the opportunity to demonstrate their worth as Vongola Guardians, allowing them to pass their trials.
With only Mist Guardian and Sky Boss succession trial left, they are concerned by Chrome's disappearance. Colonnello is called by Reborn who informed him and the other Arcobaleno of Chrome's sudden refusal to fight, surprising him. Thinking that Demon Spade has something to do with Chrome's strange behavior, Colonnello and the rest decides to visit Kokuyo Land, only to find the girls being held hostage by Demon who disapproves of Tsuna and his Guardians. With Tsuna and his friends being forced to take the Mist Guardian succession trial under Demon's own term, Colonnello, Reborn, and Fon intends to interfere, but Demon uses his illusion to make the entire Kokuyo Land disappear to prevent them from following Tsuna and the others inside. Colonnello immediately looks for Mammon, accusing him of running away by using not being paid as an excuse. Mammon rebuffs this accusation by claiming that he is stronger than Demon, so Colonnello demands Mammon to prove his words by helping them.
With the Arcobaleno gathered together, they combined the power of their pacifiers to help destroying Demon's illusion and enter Kokuyo Land. Colonnello watches Tsuna fighting against Demon until he wins with Mukuro's help, and finally gained Demon and Giotto's acceptance. As the succession trial has been completed, Colonnello bids Tsuna and his friends farewell, telling Yamamoto never to lose his way again.
Future Final Battle Arc[]
After Byakuran was defeated, Colonnello and the rest of the Arcobaleno were revived because Uni sacrificed herself to bring them back to life.
The Curse of the Rainbow Arc[]
Reborn was seen to have a dream about when they became an Arcobaleno. A mysterious man sent Reborn to a certain location where he could meet his new colleagues and he went there and met original "I Prescelti Sette." Suddenly, Reborn returned to his infant form, followed by the rest of the Arcobaleno, excluding Lal Mirch and Luce, who disappeared. Colonnello suddenly appeared in his infant form. The mysterious man then revealed himself. The Arcobaleno showed hatred against him and were prepared to attack him, however, the mysterious man then tells them that despite how strong they were, they cannot use their abilities because they were in a dream. He then makes a proposal to the Arcobaleno, asking if they want to solve the mystery of the rainbow. The man then reveals that the Arcobaleno have to fight amongst themselves with a representative, and whoever is the strongest will be reverted to their adult form. Colonnello expresses his disbelief at this, but later, after the man threatens them with being in their infant body for the rest of their life, agrees to a fight between all Arcobaleno. As a result, Colonnello went to the CEDEF headquarters to request Iemitsu Sawada's help. Later, in his conversation with Iemitsu regarding the request, Colonnello reveals that he's not fighting to free himself from the curse; he wants to remove the curse from Lal, making Iemitsu finally agree to assist him, adding that if it was for Lal, the CEDEF members would whole-heartedly support her.
Later, Colonnello arrives in Japan along with the CEDEF. The day before the Representative Battle of the Rainbow, he trains Basil by firing shots from his gun at Basil, the latter having to dodge them. Later, Colonnello spies on Team Uni and Team Reborn battling against Team Verde. He temporarily releases his curse with the use of his Rainbow wristwatch and notes that he could destroy all of the battlers' wristwatches with his gun in one shot, simultaneously. After making sure that all members of Team Reborn are away from their enemies, Colonnello makes his shot, destroying the battler watches of Kikyo, Ken, and Chikusa. This action is opposed by Tsuna because Team Reborn is also allied with Team Uni, but Iemitsu reasoned that Team Uni is not allied with Team Colonnello, so they are considered enemies. When Tsuna refused to fight against Team Uni, Iemitsu broke their alliance. With Iemitsu deciding to fight Tsuna himself, Colonnello reverted to his cursed form and watch the fight between father and son together with Lal. He is baffled when Tsuna failed to recognize Reborn in his true form.
After the second day fight is over, Colonnello and the rest of the participants learned of Team Skull's defeat at the hands of Bermuda and his Vindice team, taking over Team Skull's position as participants in the Rainbow Representative Battle. The Arcobaleno holds a meeting at Namimori Hospital where Skull is being treated, discussing Team Bermuda. After the meeting, Colonnello returns to Sawada residence, only to find Iemitsu severely injured and his boss watch destroyed by a Vindice who ambushed them. Iemitsu apologized to Colonnello for failing him in lifting Lal's curse, exposing the true reason CEDEF willing to become Colonnello's representatives to Lal. Colonnello becomes embarrassed as Lal expresses her gratitude, but their moment is ruined by Reborn who reminds them to focus on their current problem.
Colonnello and the rest of the Arcobaleno are once again called by Reborn for a meeting, and they learned from Reborn the truth behind the Arcobaleno Curse and the true purpose of the Representative Battle of the Rainbow. The discussion results with divisive opinions. Learning that Lal would also die should Checkerface is killed, Colonnello refuses to the idea of teaming up with Bermuda.
The next day, Tsuna is able to convince Reborn and the other Arcobaleno to fight together to defeat Bermuda and avert their fate forced by Checkerface. Together with the whole teams, they conduct a strategy for the upcoming battle against Team Bermuda. Once the battle begins, Colonnello watch the fight together with the other Arcobaleno until Tsuna finally defeats Bermuda. Checkerface, then appears and reveal himself as Kawahira. He explain the true history behind Tri-ni-set and why the Arcobaleno's existence is necessary to keep the balance. Before Kawahira can proceed with his plan to create another Arcobaleno, Talbot appears and offer another alternative to keep Tri-ni-set without having the need of Arcobaleno Pacifiers. Accepting the offer, Kawahira lifted the Arcobaleno Curse from Colonnello and the rest, but finds only Lal return to her original self. Verde deduces that when the curse is lifted, this mean that they can now grow like normal humans.
Colonnello then proposes to Lal and the two prepares to get married, inviting their friends. Later, however, the two of them got into argument, causing the wedding ceremony to be postponed to a later date.
