Cozarto Simon was the first boss of the Simon Famiglia. He lived at the same time as Giotto. They were friends and treated each other like brothers. His blood was used in the Vongola Sin. Orders to protect Simon's grave have been passed down from generation to generation. It was not until an earthquake, which was supposedly caused when Tsuna and his Family returned from the future, uncovered treasures from his grave - the Simon Rings. Cozarto appears to have the similar abilities to Enma, as seen by the crest generated around his gauntlet, which is the same as Enma's.

Character Outline

Appearance

Cozarto greatly resembles Enma. He has short spiky red hair and red eyes with Simon Famiglia crest in it. At his first appearance, he wears a black vest with a white shirt beneath, black long pants, and a black cap. Later on, he is shown to wear the Simon uniform similar to Enma's but with an additional pair of epaulettes on his shoulders.

Personality

Cozarto is a kind young man who shares the same justice as his best friend, Giotto. He cares for both his friends and Family and would do his best to help them in any way despite the consequences that might fall upon him. Once he forms bonds with people, he would placed his utmost trust and faith in them; particularly Giotto and both their Famiglias.

History

Giotto and Cozart smiling

Cozarto met Giotto for the first time.

Cozarto first met Giotto and G. when they returned his wallet that he purposely dropped to help their poor neighbor, Paolo, since he knew that Paolo's master didn't treat him and his family well. Hearing this, Giotto revealed that they also dropped the same amount of money for Paolo to take, making Cozarto laughed. They introduced themselves, starting their friendship. One day, when Franco, one of their friends, was attacked by group of thugs for refusing to give them 90% discount and no doctors are helping him due to being threatened, Cozarto suggested to make a vigilante group to protect the townspeople from outlaws and pointed Giotto to become the leader, creating Vongola Famiglia.

Grown up Cozart received letter from Giotto.

Several years later, Cozarto received letter from Giotto that expressed his fear that the Vongola he originally created would bring harm due to the great power they have. At the last part of the letter, it was informed that there'll be a big war coming up and ask for his assistance. Realizing that the last part of the letter was fake since it was addressed as "from Vongola Primo", Cozarto went to help Giotto in the war. During the war, he was approached by Daemon Spade's subordinates who offered them their help. However, Cozarto already knew that Daemon was actually intend to kill him and his Famiglia. At this, Daemon's subordinates revealed themselves as G. and the other remaining Guardians who had been ordered by Giotto to save him since he had seen through Daemon's plan.

Afterwards, he, Giotto, and G. met up and discussed what should they do with Daemon. Cozarto suggested that they should kept his and his Famiglia's survival a secret as he had a strong feeling that getting rid of Daemon won't be an easy task and decided that he and his Famiglia would live in the shadow. Giotto at first reluctant, but seeing Cozarto won't back down, he agreed under condition that the Simon would always help Vongola from the shadow as long as the Famiglia exist, which Cozarto wholeheartedly agreed. With the vow had been made, an Arcobaleno with clear pacifier and a Vindice, Bermuda von Veckenschtein and Jager, appeared in front of them, declaring they shall imprison those who lost the battle if the Vongola and Simon ever crossed sword against each other as this is also part of Mafia law.

Since then, Cozarto and his Famiglia lived isolated in Simon Island and never met either Giotto or Vongola again for the rest of their lifetimes, but both confident that one day their true descendants who bear their wills will meet and smile together again like they did. After his death, he was buried in some part of the island along with Simon Rings within his tomb.

Weapons and Abilities

Cozarto is capable of using the Dying Will Flame which is a form of high pressured energy capable of having destructive powers or purifying evil auras. It initially lies within a person's body until it is awakened, helping increase a person's strength. When a person is able to control the full potential and power of the Dying Will they are able to go to (Hyper) Dying Will Mode any time.

Cozarto Simon with Giotto

Giotto first heard about the Simon from his (Giotto's) grandfather. Giotto and Cozarto shared a close relationship, like brothers, furthered by the fact that they both shared the same view of justice. Due to their strong bond, Vongola and Simon swore to never cross swords against each other. This friendship later carries on to a point where Giotto never refers to himself as Primo to him and when Giotto learns of Cozarto's support arriving in Italy, Giotto, who worried about Cozarto's condition, at first decided to help him himself and later ordered his Guardians to help him after knowing Daemon's betrayal. Cozarto, suspecting a traitor within Vongola, immediately decided to help Giotto. The true extent of their friendship are shown when Cozarto decided to isolated himself with his Famiglia for Giotto's sake and both swore to each other that their Famiglias would always close till the end of times and placed their trust in their children to continue their will.

G.

G. also met Cozarto along with Giotto when they gave back his wallet to him at Paolo's house. Their relationship is not shown, however, they were also close friends even though not as close as Cozarto is with Giotto.
