She is 14-year-old girl wearing a Kokuyo school uniform that was first introduced as Tsuna's mystery Mist guardian .

From what her parents talked about in a flashback, she was a girl known as Nagi and lived a non-social life. After rescuing a cat, she was badly injured in a car accident which led to the loss of her right eye and some of her internal organs. The only way to save her life would be to have someone with the same blood type to transfer their organs to her. She did not care whether she lived or not and her mother refused to sacrifice her own organs anyway. However, Mukuro Rokudo allowed her to live by creating illusionary organs. However, if hers or Mukuro's trident breaks, her stomach will sink in due to not having genuine organs. Chrome has been shown using two of Mukuro's six skills.  

Chrome is also trying hard to learn Italian, since her goal is to someday be able to converse with Mukuro in Italian.

Chrome is chosen to be the holder of the Ring of Mist, but is overwhelmed during the Mist Ring Battle against Mammon, leading Mukuro to take control and defeat Mammon. Later in the Sky Ring Battle, she is captured by Bel and Mammon and held hostage to convince Gokudera and Yamamoto to give up their rings. Gokudera and Yamamoto are caught in an illusion. Ryohei comes to the rescue and breaks the illusion.

After being transferred into the future with a frozen Vongola ring, Chrome was confronted by Glo Xinia in the Kokuyo Gang's hideout. With the help of adult Mukuro she was able to thaw out her ring and defeat Glo Xinia. Ryohei later brought Chrome to the Vongola base. As she lay in sick bed, her illusion internal organs begin to fail and disappear due to Mukuro's defeat. However she was able to use the Vongola Mist Ring to sustain her organs via her own illusions. During the invasion of the Melone base, she appeared using illusions to disguise herself with  Hibari and Kusakabe.

Along with the other guardians, Chrome was given a new Vongola box from her adult self. She later began training to master her Vongola Box, combat abilities and illusions with Bianchi and I-Pin. After choice when Torikabuto tried to capture Uni, Chrome used her Vongola Mist Owl to see through the illusions aiding Tsuna in the fight.

As Mukuro shares Chrome's body, she is granted the powers of "Six Paths of Reincarnation" though so far she is only proficient in illusions. Usually, Chrome is in control of her body, but if she is in an extremely dangerous situation, her body is surrounded by mist and Mukuro takes control, along with the body changing to Mukuro's appearance. In the future, she learns how to create real illusions using the Vongola Mist ring.

• Realm of Animals Chrome has the ability to summon animals such as snakes.
• Realm of Hell Chrome has the ability to use illusions.
• Real Illusion with the assistance of Mukuro and the Mist Vongola ring she has shown to be capable of real illusions.
  

  

  Cambio Forma: Demon Spade Evil Lens
• Gufo della Nebbia lit. Mist Owl Chrome acquires it in her battle with Glo Xinia as it is inhabited by Mukuro, which changed it from a Rain Box Weapon to a Mist Box Weapon.
• Trident Chrome uses Mukuro's trident. The trident however can fit into a small bag by retracting the poles of the trident and the handle.
• Vongola Mist Owl This is Chrome's Vongola box weapon. It appears to look much like her Mist Owl but with armour padding on it's wings.
• Cambio Forma: Demon Spade's Evil Lens The Vongola Mist Owl transforms into a set of three lens. These lens enables Chrome to see through even the most powerful illusions. It was also said that the first Mist Guardian had the same weapon and could curse anyone he glared at.

• Her last name, Dokuro, means "skull" in Japanese. Also, the Japanese rōmaji of her name, Kurōmu Dokuro, is an anagram of Mukuro Rokudō.
• In the Reborn! Fandom, Chrome is known as 96 the opposite of Mukuro's 69 as her name is an anagram of his name.
• She is the only female Guardian in the Family.
• During her fight with Glo Xinia, she remarks that blushing / rosy cheeks are natural for her as they were something she inherited.
• In a popularity poll, she ranked 1st among the girl characters.
• It can be perceived that the father in Chrome's flashback is her stepfather as he states how they are not related by blood.
• Unlike Tsuna, Hibari and Yamamoto, Chrome does not resemble the first mist guardian but Mukuro does.
• It is possible that Mukuro is the original holder of the Vongola Mist Ring, but only Chrome has contact with him, so she is considered as the holder of the Vongola Mist ring as well.
• In every Reborn! Opening and Ending, Chrome has always/only appeared next to Mukuro. Except for 'Dive to World' where Mukuro switched to Chrome while on a rollercoaster with Tsuna following behind and at the very end of the song.
