Bertesca Primo was the founder of the Bertesca Famiglia and thus, its first boss. He was mentioned in the third installment of Fate of Heat DS game Katekyo Hitman Reborn! DS Fate of Heat III - Yuki no Shugosha Raishuu!.

Parvento once stated that Gelaro greatly resembled the Bertesca Primo.
History[]
Bertesca Primo and the Vongola Primo, Giotto, were close friends, their Famiglias forming alliance together to protect their respective townspeople.
Their time of peace didn't last long, however, as a man named Parvento started to wreak havoc on Catafalco Island, terrorizing the villagers of the island. Bertesca Primo and Giotto fought together, but were unable to completely defeat Parvento. Left without any choice, they decided to freeze Parvento forever with Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition.
To keep him frozen, Bertesca Primo and Giotto created the Vongola Snow Ring, the key of the seven crystals that sealed Parvento. Knowing that it wasn't enough to keep Parvento sealed, Bertesca Primo and his Famiglia decided to stay on the Island to protect both the seal and the villagers so that Parvento's tyranny would never cause harm again, though it meant cutting off his connection with both the Vongola and the main civilization.
Since then, he and his Famiglia, along with the island's villagers, who agreed to help him, diligently protected Parvento's seal from being broken and to protect the residents of the island.
